13 Egyptian Christians kidnapped by armed and masked men

Egypt's foreign minister, Sameh Shoukry, met with senior church officials on Saturday amid efforts to solve the crisis.
Thirteen Egyptian Christians were kidnapped in the Libyan city of Sirte, adding to seven that went missing last week in the war-torn North African country, Egypt's state news agency said on Saturday.

The 13 reported kidnapped on Saturday were Coptic Christians and Egypt's foreign minister, Sameh Shoukry, had met with senior church officials on Saturday amid efforts to solve the crisis, state news agency MENA said.

Magdy Malik, a Christian activist in Egypt, said that gunmen stormed a residence for expatriates in Sirte and abducted the 13 Copts.

Gunmen went room to room and asked for identification papers to separate Muslim workers from Christians, witness Hanna Aziz told The Associated Press.

"They were 15 armed and masked men who came in four vehicles," he said. "They had a list of full names of Christians in the building. While checking IDs, Muslims were left aside while Christians were grabbed. I heard my friends screaming, but they were quickly shushed at gunpoint. After that, we heard nothing. I am still in my room waiting for them to take me. I want to die with them." He said he escaped capture because he didn't open his door.

Libya is split between militias loyal to an internationally recognized government, which Egypt supports, and those allied to a rival government based in Tripoli that includes Islamist groups and politicians.

Egyptian Copts have been targeted in Libya before during the chaos that broke out when militias that fought together to oust dictator Muammar Gaddafi then trained their arms on one another.

Seven Egyptian Christians were found shot execution-style on a beach in eastern Libya last February.

Local reports have said a Coptic doctor and his wife were murdered in their home in early December, with their daughter's body later found.

A formal diplomatic mission to retrieve the Egyptians would be difficult because much of Libya falls outside of the officially recognized government's control, an Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman said on Al-Hayat, a state-owned television station.

Payer Works; Sierra Leone declares week of prayer and fasting to end Ebola

The President of Sierra Leone has called upon his nation to pray and fast for a week to tackle the Ebola crisis devastating the country.

Some 20,000 people have been infected by the virus, with 2,700 dead in Sierra Leone alone.

President Ernest Bai Koroma declared a week of fasting and prayers to end suffering from the disease starting on Thursday, January 8.

"Today, I ask all to commit our actions to the grace, mercy and protection of God Almighty," he said in his New Year's Day address.

The World Health Organisation has said that while the Ebola outbreak is mostly confined to West Africa, the death toll has risen to 7,905, following 317 fatalities recorded since it last issued figures on December 24.

Sierra Leone accounts for the biggest proportion of Ebola cases - 9,000 - and the number of infections continues to grow, WHO said. Since December 24, new laboratory-confirmed cases in West Africa have reached 476, and 337 of them are in Sierra Leone.

Beyond the week-long fasting and prayers, Koroma announced that schools shut since July in a bid to slow down the spread of the virus will reopen soon.

"The ministry of education is putting in place modalities to reopen schools and colleges in the shortest possible time," Koroma was quoted as saying by Reuters.

Still, he urged people to avoid physical contact with the sick or corpses and abide by quarantine rules.

Christian Aid greeted the new year with a stern warning to the international community not to forget the plight of thousands of people affected by the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone.

The charity is currently training 500 religious leaders in eight districts of the country to deal with psycho-social counselling and stigma reduction in affected communities.

Jeanne Kamara, Christian Aid Country Manager in Sierra Leone, said it was also providing survivors with packages of food, household materials and hygiene items.

"Survivors need food and other support, such as the provision of basic household items, since those who are infected have all their belongings burnt leaving people in a desperate situation," she explained.

She spoke of her hope that a British nurse infected with Ebola, Pauline Cafferkey, would make a full recovery.

"We are very sorry to hear of the British nurse who has fallen victim to this indiscriminate virus," said Kamara. "At a time when the Ebola crisis appears to have fallen from the international news agenda, this sad incident reminds us that this disease does not recognise country boundaries and is continuing to infect more people every day."

All saints prays for Andraé Crouch: As Gospel Legend Hospitalized

Gospel legend Andraé Crouch is in the hospital and is seriously ill, according to the family.

His sister, Sandra Crouch, announced he was taken to the hospital Monday with serious health complications.

"At this time, Andraé is being attended by a wonderful medical team, and we are so grateful for the thousands of people around the world who are praying for Andraé right now," she said in a press statement.

She asked for continued prayer for Andraé's full recovery but did not specify what exactly the singer was battling.

During the making of his album Mighty Wind in 2006, Andraé told CBN he had a cancerous growth on his throat. When doctors cut it out, the discovered seven nodes or polyps surrounding it. Andraé said when the doctors checked it again after cutting the growth, the nodes were gone.

He also told CBN his mother, father, and brother all died of cancer.

Andraé said then he told the devil, "The buck stops here," and that no matter what he will praise God.

The Grammy Award-winner has been making gospel music since he was 14 years old and has been in the music industry for more than four decades.

He's collaborated on projects with Paul Simon, Quincy Jones, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Barbara Madrell, Elton John, Madonna, Vanessa Williams, and many others. He also serves as a co-pastor at New Christ Memorial Church in San Fernando, California.

Don't judge people before you truly know them

A 24 year old boy seeing out from the train's window shouted..."Dad, look the trees are going behind!" Dad smiled and a young couple sitting nearby, looked at the 24 year old's childish behavior with pity, suddenly he again exclaimed..."Dad, look the clouds are running with us!" The couple couldn't resist and said to the old man..."Why don't you take your son to a good doctor?" The old man smiled and said..."I did and we are just coming from the hospital, my son was blind from birth, he just got his eyes today.

Every single person on the planet has a unique story.
Don't judge people before you truly know them. The truth might surprise you.
If this week is going to be marked, what would be your score? Live right and Lead well!

Ghanaian Preachers who have made impact in Ghana.

To my opinion these Ghanaian preachers have made impact in Ghana. On the basics of preaching the gospel and helping the needy.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams.

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, known in many parts of the world as the Apostle of Strategic Prayer, is the Presiding Archbishop and General Overseer of Christian Action Faith Ministries (CAFM), head-quartered in Accra, Ghana. He is the founder and father of the Charismatic Movement in Ghana and other parts of West Africa. CAFM, one church in many locations, has over 300 affiliate and branch churches located in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Archbishop Duncan-Williams is also the Founder and President of Global Prayer Summit. The Prayer Summits bring the message and power of prayer to many U.S. and international cities focusing on corporate prayer and breaking down spiritual barriers that hinder revival. The story of Duncan-Williams’ birth, conversion and rise to General in the body of Christ has been an inspiration to many. In 1957, he was born to Florence Bruce despite the fact that doctors had earlier told her that her pregnancy was a risk to her health and she, therefore, decided to terminate it. Months later, Mother Florence discovered that Baby Nicolas survived the medical procedure. It was clear to some early on that this baby was destined for greatness. His father, E.K. Duncan-Williams, an Ambassador, politician and chief, became actively involved in Nicolas’s life at the age of 15.

With 43 sisters and brothers, Nicolas primarily raised himself learning the art of survival through difficult circumstances at a very young age. While growing up, on multiple occasions, he nearly lost his life. 1976, on the bed of affliction—after tragically losing three of his fingers, Nicolas Duncan-Williams, gave his life to Christ and made a vow that he would spread the gospel throughout the nations and serve God for the rest of his life. He is known as a coach, mentor and a father of many -- training thousands and building nations and communities for the end time harvest.

Anointed in the ministry of prayer, healing, deliverance and the prophetic, he also serves as an Intercessor and Minister for numerous African government, civic and business leaders. His intense passion for intercession and strategic prayer is born out of his personal experience. Archbishop Duncan-Williams also offers counsel, direction and mentorship to emerging and seasoned Bishops and ministry leaders. God has used him to birth ministries across the world and he is a spiritual father to many ministry leaders. He has been instrumental in Christian revival in many parts of the world. The Archbishop believes that the different revivals that have come across the nations over the years were as a result of prayer. “There is no substitute for prayer; prayer is the lifeline of the believer and the church of Jesus Christ...and there is no distance in prayer.” He also believes that intercession will be the last move that will precede the coming of our Lord.

The Archbishop has a distinct Apostolic calling to Africa. In addition to ministering to Presidents, he has missions that support poorest of the poor. His missions are supporting orphanages and provisions of food, shelter, water, electricity and ministry training in Africa. His Ministry runs Dominion University College in Accra, a Word-based theological and leadership institute of higher learning. He also founded the Dominion Multi-media College in Accra established to bring Christian ethics and training to the media. This Apostolic calling has led the Archbishop to take his strong dynamic ministry of over 20,000 members in Ghana to other nations of the world. His association with established leaders such as Oral and Richard Roberts, Dr. Morris Cerullo, Bishop T.D. Jakes and C. Peter Wagner has helped him to gain respect and accreditation from various church leaders worldwide. He has been featured on global Christian television and radio networks, such as TBN, the Word Channel and Inspiration Network. Archbishop Duncan-Williams, the recipient of many global honors and author of several books, can be seen weekly on his television program "The Voice of Inspiration" which is viewed by millions in Europe and Africa. He was trained by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa and completed biblical studies at the All Nations for Christ Bible Institute in Benin City, Nigeria. The Archbishop, married to Rosa Whitaker Duncan-Williams, has four children, all in the Ministry, and one grand-child.

Rev. Sam Nii Korankye Ankrah.

The Most Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah - Apostle, Prophet, Pacifist, Philanthropist, Entrepreneur, Educationist, Author and Motivational Speaker was born on Tuesday, February 23, 1960 to the late Mr. J. O. Ankrah and Madam Victoria Ziddah. Out of his polygamous father’s 24 children, he is the 22nd but the fifth of his mother’s seven children. The first key person who had a profound impact on his spiritual life was his God-fearing mother whom he affectionately calls Mmaah (a Ga word which means ‘my mother’).

As a devoted Christian who dearly loved the Lord, Madam Victoria encouraged Sam to accompany her to church every Sunday. His active participation and intelligent contributions during Bible discussions at church earned him the admiration of some of the elders, who encouraged Victoria to take a keen interest in his education. Victoria did so believing that her son would grow up to become a great prophet of God like the biblical Samuel. Thus when she baptized him at the age of eleven, she christened him “Samuel”.

In 1974, young Sam gained admission to Saint John’s Grammar Secondary School (St. Johns) in Accra. There, he became an active member of the Scripture Union (SU) even though he was not ‘Born Again’. This, he explains, was due to the fact that he had never quite clearly understood the salvation message. In his first year at St. Johns, however, he encountered the Lord in a special way and accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Saviour.

By the time he entered University of Ghana, Legon, in 1984, Rev. Sam had started Showers of Blessing Incorporated - an evangelistic ministry made up of students from some second cycle institutions in Accra. This was the group which metamorphosed into Royalhouse Chapel eight (8) years later.

Dr. Otabil presents a radio and television program called “Living Word” where he addresses life-issues, such as religion, education, economic development, family life, and politics. CRITICIZING GOD'S ANOINTED; GHANA BE CAREFUL!!!

Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion but please lets watch what we say about men of God because God's opinion about them is what counts.

Miriam only rebuked Moses of adultery which was true according to the law but in God's opinion Miriam rather became leprous for the so-called correction.

None of us employed any man of God so let the One who did so measure their productivity. You have the choice not to listen to any God's anointed but be careful how you treat what you've chosen to hear. Kingdom business isn't like the corporate world. "He who has never sinned should cast the first stone." If you think any of God's anointed has swayed off, you are commanded to restore such with all meekness and supplication to the One who is able to save, considering your own self lest be tempted in the same way.

Prayer is the solution; not criticism. Can you repeat those same words you just did when brought before such a man? Do you have the power to change him? Lets fear God!!
