Isaiah 66:8.
When Zion travails the impossible is birthed. God has the power to transport your travail into what has not been seen or heard among the nations. The reason why we have not experienced miracles, blessings and breakthroughs which draw the attention of nations, communities and individuals is because we lack the power of travail. God wants us to spend time to travail and not waste energy wailing. This is because our travail triggers an immediate response which is the birthing of those things we've conceived. Travailing prayer is not just saying a prayer or making of a declaration and just trust God and leave your closet. You stay there till the baby comes out!!! Like the pregnant woman, you don't leave the labour ward till the baby comes out. One interesting thing about Travailing is that even when you feel tired your breakthrough or expectation won't allow you!! It pushes you like the baby does to the mother. In this season when everybody wants to walk in greatness, we need men and women who can travail to make a distinction and lasting effect.
Distinguishing between travailing and prevailing, To prevail is to have the energy to withstand and conquer. Travail however is the ability to push till you see the birthing of your prophecy, destiny, miracle. I personally believe Elijah on the Mount Carmel travailed. Those who travail know how to groan. They have learnt to exercise themselves in the gift of tongues. They have learnt to pray like Hannah. You don't know inner strength until you've learnt to travail. In prevailing prayers we speak forth but in travail you bring forth. In prevailing prayers you take a stand but make a stand in Travail. Go forth! Push until you see something happen!
An interesting thing to know about Travailing prayer is that your faith is not the assurance that the things you desire will come to pass one day but that they are manifesting there and then. You make ask;Why must I travail? I'm a strong disciple of the Lord. I say even Zion which is the dwelling place of God had her coming forth left in the hands of travailing prayers. You might also ask- where must I travail? I suggest every place is possible but just as the pregnant woman needs a particular place conditioned for her delivery so do we. We need a quiet and lonely place to travail. In this place, you don't need to recite many scriptures but to hold on to that one scripture which is the key to unlock that promise from God. How do I know I must travail? Someone might ask. You know you are in your season of travail when your chest is heavy with a desire that you want God to grant. You are heavy in your heart and mind to see God do what He's promised. Your whole heart and mind is burning passionately for God to bring a touch that will make your church, nation, community, family and self different. When your mind is so consumed with a thought, a beneficial idea and a plan that will enhance the work of the Kingdom. The sad thing about the church of today is that it is burning in thoughts rather than travail. It is more of a thinking church but less of a Travailing church. It is a fast track church. The church resorts less to Travailing not because it is an outmoded way of prayer but doesn't want to give up all she has in order to lay hold of what God has promised. If don't understand commitment you can't travail. If you don't know how to engage inner energy, you can't travail. My prayer for today's church is that she will comprehend and lay hold of the mystery of Travailing before the king.
There's so much in Travailing. When we carefully consider this scripture we realize that Zion didn't bring forth her child but children. She didn't bring one breakthrough but any many miracles. The promise is not in accessing a blessing but many. Get up and travail because abundance awaits you. We can't see the realm of abundance and greatness because we've not accessed the mystery of travail.
Finally, I want us to understand that great ideas, plans and expectations are not birthed on tables but in the place of prayer. Be different! walk in the destiny God has designed for you. Don't let nothing hold you from travailing. Just as the face of Moses shone on his return from the mountain top, you will shine like never after. Just as there are two ways of birthing a baby, we must know the same applies to us. It's either you travail or you're cut to bring forth what heaven has deposited in you. Start today! Push until you bring forth! Groan till you break forth! Travail until you manifest! Blessings!
